“I just finished my last cup of cacao! The pack is empty! I will admit that I was sceptical at first as I’m not a fan of hot chocolate but this stuff is so completely different. I have truly looked forward to having it each day as a treat when I get in from work. It is delicious with a bit of salt, cinnamon and maple syrup and it has restored me each day when I’ve come home from the hospital cold and tired and drained. I will definitely be buying more!”

“Cacao de mer - The perfect heart-mind pick me up. Gently energising yet quietly comforting. Loving this cacao ritual - a beautiful way to enhance connection to self and others.”

  • — Kari, Bath

“I love how easy Cacao de Mer is to measure out and blend! The cacao itself is delicious - creamy and rich, so I am satisfied making mine with water, though I’m sure milk would make it extra luxurious! The packaging keeps everything fresh and smelling the cacao when I open it is probably my favourite part of my morning! Because it is already ground and ready, it’s especially easy to use for drinking, but also to sprinkle on top of anything needing a little heart energy. Love! ”

“I first got to try Laura's incredible cacao at a tasting evening, and straight away I noticed how uplifted and gently warmed I felt. I had mostly given up coffee because of caffeine jitters and now in the mid-morning, when I had previously thought about having a coffee, I make a beautiful little cacao. I like to use organic whole milk as I love how creamy it makes it, then I add a teaspoon of maple syrup, sometimes bash a bit of ginger and add that in, sometimes I sprinkle some smoked salt on there, but every time it's just delicious. If you look around at other raw cacaos you can buy, it mostly looks a bit dusty, but this one comes with little chunks and irregular pieces, and when you open the pack it smells incredible. Try it for yourself! Sorry if this is too long, I could go on forever lol

“I was fortunate enough to have been gifted a packet of Cocao de Mer cacao for Christmas. It really is the most delicious cacao I have tried (and as a certified cacao ceremony facilitator I’ve tried a few!). It mixes beautifully. It has a wonderful creamy consistency. There’s no harshness or bitter aftertaste. I like to sometimes add a few chili flakes to mine each morning.  as I wander around the garden sipping it, savoring the warm chocolatey goodness! I also love the way it provides an iridescent froth when whisked. Highly recommended for lovers of pure, high grade cacao. “

“I am so grateful to have been welcomed into Launette’s world of ritual cacao and all of its healing properties. I enjoy it in the early afternoon as a moment to ground and reflect. The taste is so deliciously rich that it always feels like special moment of luxury just for me. I like to enjoy it as is, with just a touch of cinnamon. Since making ritual cacao a part of my own daily ritual I have found myself reconnecting to heart-centred, yet grounded awareness.”

I’m already on my second batch of Laura’s delicious ritual cacao… so happy she introduced me to the benefits and I’ve really enjoyed building the ritual into my daily routine. A cup of cacao, served in a beautiful ceramic cup made by a very talented friend in Dorset, has replaced my second cup of coffee on days when I’m at home mid morning. I like to make mine with organic almond milk, always a  little grating of cinnamon, often ginger and a dash of maple syrup. It’s been fun sharing different ways of preparing it with my friend Anna who’s also new to the ritual of Cacao de Mer - we’ve been swapping salts… smoked sea salt is great and my latest find, which goes so well with cacao, is Sicilian orange salt

“My oh my. I made my first drink with your divine cacao. Just oat milk, a little cinnamon and maple syrup. Other worldly. I was feeling tired and sluggish yesterday afternoon. That tired where you’d reach for coffee. But I thought let me make the cacao. And I just felt different. The exhaustion wasn’t there anymore. And every sip felt sacred. The taste and texture was heavenly. I’ve just had another little cup this morning. What a beautiful way to start my day. Thank you for sourcing and creating such a glorious product. Feeling nourished and grateful. Promise to take a picture before I drink it all next time. For now. Here is my happy empty cup!”

What is Ritual Cacao?

Ritual Cacao is our way of sharing cacao with care, clarity, and respect. You’ll often see this practice searched as “ceremonial cacao” or “ceremonial grade cacao”, but at Cacao De Mer we choose not to use the word “ceremonial” because it doesn’t originate in Indigenous lineages and can blur the lines between everyday wellness culture and sacred traditions that aren’t ours to claim. Instead, we call what we offer Ritual Cacao, a universal, personal practice that can be as simple as lighting a candle, taking a breath, or sharing a warm cup with someone you love.

For us, ritual is about daily intention, reflection, and connection, while honouring cacao as a sacred plant without replicating Indigenous ceremonies. Our values are rooted in respect for cacao’s cultural origins, transparency and reciprocity at source, and the belief that cacao’s quality is something you can feel for yourself through relationship and experience.

Cacao de Mer X Ximena Heasman Ritual Cup
£18.00

At the heart of every cacao ritual lies the vessel, the cup that carries warmth, intention, and connection. It is more than an object; it is a keeper of stories, a symbol of stillness, and a bridge between the physical and the sacred.

As part of our Ritual Collection, Cacao de Mer is collaborating with a selection of remarkable ceramic artists to create a limited range of handcrafted ritual vessels. Each piece is unique, shaped and glazed with care and imbued with the maker’s touch, an invitation to slow down, hold, and honour the moment.

Our first collaboration is with Ximena Heasman, a Colombian–British ceramic artist and designer whose contemporary stoneware and expressive raku pieces celebrate the meeting of earth, fire, and human craft. Together, we explore the deep connection between cacao and clay, both born of the earth, both transformed by ritual.

These limited-edition ceramics are designed to elevate your cacao ritual, grounding you in presence, beauty, and intention with every sip.
